Zoe, That is an amazing review and your words say it aptly about this book -
<b>"The Arrival has haunted and beguiled me". </b>

It has haunted me from the moment I read it. We had a lot of Tamil refugees next to our home and it always makes me think about them.

What a wonderful, inspiring book! I am also interested in how people have the courage and tenacity to leave all they know behind and strike out for new lives in a not always welcoming country. I would love to read it. As a graduate students in special education, I would like to see this kind of book in every school library (at the very least), and impress upon students from the very young to those ready to leave high school to delve into their family lives (if they can) to learn about their family, but also to gain insight into themselves and their place in the world.
