Pay it forward

How do you feel about spreading a bit of happiness?…

May I Bring a Friend won the Caldecott Medal (an annual prize honouring the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children) in 1965 and is a wonderful book – I shan’t say much more here and now as I suspect I shall do a full-blown post on it in the next couple of weeks, but suffice to say it was a real treat to receive it.
Vanessa knows that our raison d’etre here at Playing by the book is play inspired by the books we read and she very thoughtfully enclosed 2 masks identical to those worn by a set of characters in the book so we’ve been all set up to act out the story – we’ve had lots of fun already!
Having been the lucky recipient of this (almost) random act of kindness it’s now my turn pay it forward. If you would like to receive a surprise gift from Playing by the book…
Just one aside – If you don’t have a blog I’m not sure how you can participate in this game – if you can work out a way to do it, then let me know and I’ll count you in for the draw.
Thanks again to Vanessa for our gift, and for spreading some happiness
I’m looking forward to my chance to spread a bit of joy about too!

I’m not trying to join in on the pay it forward–just want to say I am glad you enjoyed the book and that the girls got some fun out of the masks!
(I have been holding that post on the masks until you received so as not to ruin the surprise.)
