Bits and bobs

As promised, here are a couple of photos of my new bookcases now that they’ve lived with us for a little while!

There’s still plenty of opportunity for sorting out books which we’ve yet to give in to (to sort by size? author? age band? colour??), but at least the books are on the shelves and we have some free surfaces elsewhere in the house!

In other news, should you feel so inclined I would like to ask you to consider voting for me in the 2010 MAD Blog Awards – in other words the “Mummy and Daddy (MAD) Blog Awards, celebrating the utter brilliance of British parent blogs.” [Don’t know about the utter brilliance of Playing by the book but there you go!]

As of this week you can nominate your favourite MAD blogs in up to 10 different award categories. You can nominate any (UK affiliated) parent blog you choose, in any category. To vote click here (you do not need to be UK affiliated to vote – just a reader of any UK parent blogs). You’ll be asked for your name and email address and then to provide the name/URL of the blog you would like to vote for as overall winner. When you click “Next Page” you’ll be asked for your nominations in each of 10 categories – you don’t have to fill in something in each of these slots, just in whatever slots you like (blogs will be checked for their eligibility in each category). The 10 categories are:

  • Most Innovative MAD Blog
  • Best MAD Family Fun Blog
  • Funniest MAD Blog
  • Best-Looking MAD Blog
  • Best MAD Baby Blogger
  • Best New MAD Blog
  • Most Inspirational MAD Blog
  • Best MAD Blog Photography
  • Best MAD Blog Writer

  • For more information about the MADs click here, for a list of some great British parent blogs click here, and if you want to start your own blog and are some way linked to the UK, British Mummy Bloggers is a great place to start.
