Moomin Mug Giveaway!
Posted on | November 16, 2010 | 66 Comments
Today I’m very excited to announce that after my post on Sunday about some gorgeous Moomin themed gifts that are out there waiting for book-loving homes to go to Cooks Paraphernalia have very generously offered two Moomin mugs in a giveaway here on Playing by the book.
Cooks Paraphernalia aims “to provide you with a selection of the best quality kitchenware and related products available in the UK, exceptional customer service and competitive prices“. I’ve not (yet!) shopped there, but my dealings with them so far have been excellent – swift, curteous and positive. As a keen cook myself there are lots of items I like on their shelves, including what they are offering for the giveaway: a pair of beautiful Moomin mugs – “Love” (the most popular design) and “Muddler”.
To enter please visit the Cooks Paraphernalia website, have a look around then come back here and leave a message about one of the items you particularly liked on the site (Moomin themed or otherwise). If you mention the giveaway on Twitter / Facebook / your blog etc leave an additional comment here and that will get you an extra entry. The competition is open worldwide for one week – sometime shortly after 6am Tuesday November 23rd I will randomly select a winner.

Ooh, I am very tempted by the AeroLatte milk frother & stand…we could really use that in our house.
I’ve retweeted the competition (as @stephanieburgis ) – can I mention that within this comment for my extra point? Or do I need to leave a separate comment about the RT? Because I really love those Moomin mugs.
November 16th, 2010 @ 8:25 am
The heartbreakingly lonely Groke makes a lovely adornment to a cereal bowl. And she’d keep the milk nice and cold, too.
)
Have you read Tove Jansson’s The Dangerous Journey? It’s back in print earlier this month, after 38 years’ absence. The illustrations are stunning, and very different to the more graphic style of Who Will Comfort Toffle and The Book About Moomin, Mymble and Little My.

Tweeted too. @adamwilde

I’m in the US so this store is a brand new find. Lots of brands I have never heard of. I found a magnetic knife rack I love
Eva Solo Magneto Knife Rack
It is so much better than the one I thought was the best from IKEA that is presently in my kitchen.
Thanks for the chance to enter for the sweet mugs..

Most definitely the 65th anniversary Moomin mug, with that air of nostalgia that is so characteristic of my favorite works from Tove Jansson. This is a great giveaway, thanks! Fingers crossed…

I love 2 things. The Eva Solo Teamaker with a Red Jacket, and the Moomin Christmas Mug 2010 – Skiing Competition. I was brought up on the moomins and they’re fabulous, and I now have family living in Scandinavia. Eva Solo and The Moomins go together perfectly. I would love to win. Many thanks.

The Moomin adventures were very special to me as a child and now as a Children’s Librarian I love to see the joy they bring my readers as they discover a magical world of adventure with a very real sense of humour and humanity. There is wit, love, sadness and reflection in these wonderful books that children naturally connect with. I am hard pushed to choose just one item but the Moomin Mug – The Inspector is the one my readers would probably choose for me (for various reasons…) and I do love the design http://www.cooksparaphernalia.co.uk/cookware/moomin-mug-inspector.html I do hope I have a Moomin mug for Christmas – my readers would be delighted to see me enjoying my coffee with this too I am sure!

We love kitchen stuff here at our house! I think shopping for kitchen gadgets is one of my favorite things to shop for. I looked around their site and found a kitchen scale I liked (Escali Primo Digital Electric Scales, Chrome finish) – ours recently broke!
