I just bought his Blue Horse book. Although to be an honest, I bought it more for my wife than my daughter. Wife is a big fan.

We love The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Busy Spider and The Bad-tempered Ladybird. Eric Carle’s artwork is amazing. A couple of years ago I made my daughter a very hungry caterpillar quilt for her bed.

We enjoy Eric Carle – E (2.5) for some reason has retired the v hungry caterpillar as “the boom boom book” and every time she recites it she says “boom boom” instead of caterpillar!

All our children and both my wife and I love all the Eric Carle books. He’s a genius. Truly original art. My only complaint has been I don’t think he’s the best writer ever – 10 rubber ducks was a great book about a true story but didn’t scan well for me. But what do I know? ;) He’s still a genius for creating The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Read it thousands of times to my two.
