Did you know that February 14th is International Book Giving Day?
A day dedicated to getting new, used and borrowed books in the hands of as many children as possible, you can use International Book Giving Day to have lots of fun; whether that’s giving your family a book, donating to a literacy charity, or organising a bookswap or picture book party, the day is a great way to celebrate books and foster a love of reading.
The incredibly talented Hungarian illustrator Mariann Maray has produced this year’s lovely poster.
Download this International Book Giving Day 2014 poster (pdf), print it… and put it EVERYWHERE! Libraries, classrooms, Facebook, Twitter, bookshops….
The poster is currently additionally available in Hindi, Portuguese, French and Spanish – head on over to the International Book Giving Day website to download these versions 🙂
For more ideas on how to get involved, check out what people did last year.
To keep up with more news about International Book Giving Day, you can like the IBGG Facebook page, follow @bookgivingday on twitter, or simply keep an eye on the International Book Giving Day website.
Now I’m off to plot how I’ll be celebrating International Book Giving Day…. a rather nice way to start the week!
