Today’s poem in our Poetree Calendar is Sanday Island by Ian Stephen. You can read it here, in the Scottish Poetry Library. I chose it because our family’s happiest week this year was spent on the island of Sanday. It’s a place we hold very dear.
Here are some of the photos we took whilst on Sanday – if you read the poem, you’ll see why I’ve chosen to share them today.
For those of you who remember my shell books from earlier this year, Sanday is where I made them, with shells found on the beaches there.
