[...] Playing by the book is a favorite blog of mine to stop by and visit; if you don’t know this blogger, do stop by to meet a “mum of two girls” residing in the UK. Mum has just announced her second International Postcard Swap for Families which somehow I missed last year. While I don’t have children in my home, I am going to “borrow” some children to participate with me as it sounds like such fun. You agree to send 5 postcards internationally, you receive 5 cards. And the literacy connection besides “writing” the messages? You suggest a children’s book you like for the ages of your recipients. The deadline for signing up is Tuesday, May 17. Check it out! Oh, I almost forgot…Mum has made it easy for you to extend this experience by posting a great list of books about sending and receiving mail and the processes involved.
