1170 postcards! AND your questions sought….

| 6

Yes, the International Postcard Swap for Families is just about to get under way and we will have *1170 postcards* crossing the globe, from every continent (other than Antarctica), to all sorts of happy, book-loving children! I’m thrilled with this – and am now settling down to a weekend of cake and administration 😉

Once I have the swap addresses out next week I am very lucky in that I will be interviewing my first author/illustrator for Playing by the Book! Katie Cleminson won Best Emerging Illustrator at the Booktrust Early Years Awards 2009 and her first book, Box of Tricks, has become one of our very favourites here (here’s our review). Her second book, Wake Up!, has just been published and to celebrate this, I’ll be interviewing her – and here’s where you come in…. please leave me a comment with any question you’d like me to put to Katie next week. I can’t guaranteed I’ll be able to ask her your question, but I’d love to hear from you as so what sort of things you’d like to find out from the interview.

just got our list via email thanks so much for organising this
Cant wait to select and write our postcards and then sit back and wait for some “happy mail” in our letterbox

Was her first book also released under the name, Magic Box? If so, why the name change? I’d also love to see a photo of the pipette she describes in her Best Emerging Illustrator interview.

So excited! We have “painted” our postcards already and now just need to go to the post office with them… (even had a friend translate one of our cards into Spanish!)

Thank you for all the hard work!!
