… but should you be curious as to what I sound like, you can now hear me talking all about children’s audiobooks in a podcast with Melitsa from Raising Playful Tots. Although recorded a little while ago, the podcast came out yesterday, and is part of regular series produced by Melitsa interviewing bloggers about play and creative activities with kids.
In the podcast I talk about why I think audiobooks are great, where you can go to get great audiobooks, some of our family’s favourite audiobooks and I also share a bit of background as to how Playing by the book was born. It’s quite an interview, at over 35 minutes long, and it takes me a wee while to get into my stride but I’d love to hear back from you as to what you thought of it, and what you think of audiobooks for children 🙂

I can’t download it at the moment – keeps crashing my computer but I’m sure you sound lovely.
We love the Roald Dahl audio books – especially Fantastic Mr Fox and George’s Marvellous Medicine.
The Jungle Book with Eartha Kitt is also a huge favourite
And the Alison Lester stories.

Wow Ally, The Jungle Book with Earth Kitt sounds fantastic! Must look out for that one. I love ALison Lester stories too, – though mostly their illustrations. I wonder what the audiobooks are like.

Really enjoyed our interview. We went to the library and there was a new big sign saying free audio story books. I wonder if the confusion is that it’s next to the huge DVD section for kids that you pay for?
We have stories on at home.
Hey Ally- we’re you able to listen online? or via your phone or iTunes since downloading to your PC didn’t workout?
