Win 10 fabulous books!

To celebrate the launch of Tesco Magazine‘s new story-telling videos for their Kids’ Book Club I’ve got a tremendous giveaway today.

You can be in with a chance of winning not one, not two, but ten books simply by leaving a comment on this post. The books included in this prize are a mixture of picture books and chapter books, making it a great prize for a family with siblings of different ages. One lucky winner will receive a copy of each of the following:

  • Mine! by Rachel Bright
  • Dog Loves Books by Louise Yates (which I read in a recent storytelling session described here)
  • Otto the Book Bear by Katie Cleminson (which I reviewed here)
  • Thank You for Looking After Our Pets by Tim Hopgood (which I reviewed here)
  • Little One’s Bedtime by Suzi Reeve and Rosie Reeve
  • The Night Before Christmas by Clement C Moore, illustrated by Eric Puybaret
  • The Gruffalo’s Child by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
  • Daisy and the Trouble with Life by Kes Gray
  • Gormy Ruckles Monster Trouble by Guy Bass
  • Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again by Frank Cottrell Boyce
  • If you want extra chances to win this bag of brilliant books you can:

  • Tweet about this giveaway. Please use this text or something similar: Over at @playbythebook is giving away a sack of brilliant kids’ books (UK only)
  • Follow @tescomagazine (where more prizes will be given away during half term)
  • Mention this giveaway on your blog
  • Link to this giveaway from your Facebook page or Google+ page

  • For any of the extra entries to count you MUST leave a separate comment here on this post saying what extra chance you’ve gone for (eg tweeted about the giveaway etc).

    This giveaway:

  • is ONLY OPEN TO UK RESIDENTS over 16 years old (apologies to my readers from elsewhere)
  • is open until 6am (UK time) 2 November 2011

  • The winners will be selected randomly with the help of, and announced here on Playing by the book sometime during the day on 2nd of November. If you’ve already got some of these books, or don’t have children of your own, why not consider entering on behalf of your local school. Good Luck!

Once you’ve left a comment here to enter the competition I do encourage you to pop over to the Kids’ Book Club to watch some of the new story-time videos of actors Alison Steadman and Caroline Quentin reading the books in this giveaway bundle.

And once you’ve watched a video or two with your kids, get your diary out and mark Friday 28th October at 1pm (UK time) with a big smiley face: the Kids’ Book Club will be hosting their first ever live Q&A twitter chat with the award-winning author and illustrator Katie Cleminson. Anyone anywhere on Twitter can join in the chat with Katie and I’d encourage you to do so – she’s brilliant and lovely and every child should be read her books! The chat will be using the hashtag #kidsbookclub.

Disclosure: In return for highlighting the Kids’ Book Club, Tesco Magazine is donating one set of the books featured in this giveaway to my daughters’ school.
